Hangzhou Safari Park is located in the outskirts of Hangzhou, with a convenient drive from the city centre. As a themed scenic area centred around 'immersive animal interaction', it breaks free from the traditional zoo's cage constraints, allowing animals to inhabit environments closer to nature. Visitors can also observe them up close in a more intimate way. Complemented by a variety of animal shows and parent‑child recreational activities, it has become a top choice for family outings and parent‑child bonding.
The scenic area is broadly divided into two core zones: the Walking Zone and the Driving Zone, offering flexible and diverse touring options. Visitors can purchase tickets at the main entrance and enter on foot, or choose to drive in via the dedicated entrance on the right after paying a vehicle access fee. It is recommended that self‑driving visitors first enjoy the Driving Zone, then park their vehicles in the designated car park within the park before moving to the Walking Zone for an in‑depth exploration. Visitors on foot can enter the Walking Zone directly from the main entrance and explore sequentially along the planned route. Both methods allow visitors to fully experience the essence of the park.

The Walking Zone is the core experience area of the park. Upon entering, visitors step onto a circular path resembling a Tai Chi symbol, with a clear route that avoids repetition. Along the right‑hand path, you can encounter lively parrots, clever raccoons, robust blue sheep, and various rare reptiles such as pythons. The left‑hand side is a 'gathering place for cute animals', featuring the endearingly chubby national treasure, the giant panda, agile Sichuan golden snub‑nosed monkeys, as well as elegant waterbirds and songbirds like swans and crowned cranes, creating a feast for the eyes. On the central axis of the path, a must‑see attraction is the 'Four Whites of Hangzhou' — the white lion, white tiger, white kangaroo, and white rhinoceros. These rare albino species boast snow‑white fur and an adorably cute appearance, making them popular spots for visitors to take photos. Don't miss them!

The Driving Zone offers a unique experience of 'travelling through the homes of wild animals'. Visitors can take the park's exclusive mini‑train from the Forest Mini‑Train Station to venture deep into the zone, or drive through on their own. Here, large animals from Asia, Australia, Africa, and northern Tibet are raised in an open environment. From your vehicle, you might sometimes encounter majestic African lions and handsome tigers, and at other times lock eyes with strikingly striped zebras and innocent‑looking alpacas. Camels and ostriches may even approach your car, curiously interacting and greeting visitors. Each vehicle is equipped with a professional guide who provides real‑time commentary on the animals' habits and species characteristics, making the tour not only fun but also educational.

When it comes to midday, the Food Plaza located between the Walking Zone and the Driving Zone is an excellent place to recharge your energy. It gathers a variety of speciality cuisines and home‑style snacks, where visitors can take a break and refuel for the rest of the itinerary. If you are travelling with children, don't miss the adjacent Parent‑Child Amusement Park. Gentle and fun rides like the carousel and circus train allow kids to play to their hearts' content, while adults can relive the joys of childhood. The Animal Nursery near the amusement park is a true 'healing sanctuary', where you can see newborn baby animals. Their soft and adorable appearance is simply irresistible, making it a perfect spot for parent‑child interaction.

The exciting timed performances are another major highlight of the park. Every day, a rich variety of shows take place at venues such as the Sapphire Circus Performance Ground, the Red‑crowned Crane Flight Performance Ground, and the Bird Performance Ground. Most performances are scheduled in the afternoon, so visitors can plan their itinerary based on the park's announcements. It is recommended to focus on visiting animals in the morning and head to the performance venues in the afternoon for the shows, ensuring a fulfilling and well‑organised day full of joy and surprises.
