Located in Xianghu National Tourism Resort, Hangzhou Changqiao Polar Ocean Park is a large‑scale marine theme park built around the concept of 'Polar Exploration + Ocean Adventure', integrating biological displays, interactive experiences, and spectacular performances. Adjacent to the clear waters of Xianghu Lake, the park offers a picturesque blend of lake and mountain scenery with polar landscapes, allowing visitors to embark on a fantastic journey spanning the Arctic and Antarctic, land and sea, right on the outskirts of the city, and experience the mystery and charm of nature.

The most captivating feature of the park is its rich and diverse collection of polar and marine life. In the polar animal zone, adorable polar bears lazily stroll through snowy landscapes, occasionally playing with ice cubes or swimming in the water. Observing their massive size and agile movements up close is truly amazing. In the penguin house, dozens of penguins from Antarctica waddle unsteadily across rocks and ice, their black‑and‑white feathers and round bodies, along with their clumsy walking style, drawing visitors to take photos and check in. Other polar residents include clever Arctic foxes, majestic snow wolves, and gentle walruses, making it feel as if the entire North and South Poles have been transported right before your eyes.

The marine life exhibition area is equally stunning. Walking through the 100‑metre‑long underwater tunnel, look up to see giant whale sharks slowly gliding by, accompanied by colourful schools of tropical fish, with corals and sea anemones swaying gently in the current—like being in a real underwater world. In the beluga whale hall, snow‑white belugas leap out of the water and interact with their keepers, making sweet sounds that melt hearts. In the dolphin and sea lion halls, these intelligent marine mammals are always ready to surprise visitors. Thousands of marine and terrestrial species live here, creating a vibrant ecological kingdom.

The spectacular shows in the park are unmissable highlights. The flagship 'Beluga and Dolphin Show' features beluga whales and dolphins performing a series of challenging moves such as jumping, ball‑balancing, and spinning in the water with perfect coordination, often interacting closely with the audience, bringing immense surprises. The sea lion show is known for its humour and wit—the clever sea lions can do arithmetic, dance, and mimic human actions, drawing constant laughter from the crowd. Additionally, international troupes bring exotic performances blending music, dance, and oceanic elements, adding a unique international atmosphere to the trip. Each show is highly interactive and visually engaging, allowing both adults and children to immerse themselves fully.

Apart from viewing and performances, the park also emphasises education and hands‑on experiences. Informative display boards throughout the park detail the habits and conservation knowledge of animals, with professional guides available to answer questions, turning the visit into a lively nature lesson. Some areas offer interactive experiences where visitors can get up close with small animals under the guidance of staff, enjoying the joy of feeding and care. The park is well laid out with highly realistic scenes—from polar ice and snow landscapes to tropical marine settings—each step brings a new surprise, allowing guests to experience the changing seasons and a journey across thousands of miles in a single day.

Whether it is a family outing, a couple's date, or a trip with friends, Hangzhou Changqiao Polar Ocean Park offers a fulfilling and joyful experience. Here, visitors can not only admire the spectacular polar and ocean scenery and feel the cuteness of living creatures up close, but also gain knowledge amidst the fun, spread environmental awareness, and create unforgettable memories of an ocean adventure.
