Wuzhen is a national 5A‑level scenic spot and one of the first batch of Famous Historical and Cultural Towns in China. With a civilisation history of over 7,000 years and a town‑building history of over 1,300 years, it is situated at the junction of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai, alongside the Beijing‑Hangzhou Grand Canal. Renowned for its classic layout of "streets built along rivers, streets and bridges interconnecting, houses built by the riverside, and the town integrating with the water", it is known as "China's Last Water Town by the Pillow" and "Land of Fish and Rice, Home of Silk", serving as the benchmark and cover image of water towns in Jiangnan.

Traditional craft experiences: blue calico printing and dyeing, Wuzhen brocade weaving, handmade Huzhou writing brushes, and Sanbai liquor brewing. You can make them yourself and take away the intangible cultural heritage memories. Wuzhen's stinky tofu is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, served with a special sauce – it smells strong but tastes fragrant, offering a unique flavour. In addition, sweet treats like osmanthus taro paste, fermented rice dumplings, and green rice balls are sweet but not cloying, full of the gentle taste of Jiangnan. The local specialty, Sanbai liquor, is brewed from white rice, white flour and white water, with a mellow aroma, and is a distinctive local brew of the water town. From the exquisite boat dishes at riverside restaurants to the street snacks in the old lanes and alleys, Wuzhen's cuisine runs through the entire travel experience, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the taste of Jiangnan while enjoying the water town scenery.

Wuzhen's cuisine is a microcosm of water town life: the snacks are sweet, glutinous and aromatic; the main courses are fresh, delicious and rich; the craftsmanship has been passed down for thousands of years; and the seasonal delicacies vary throughout the year. From the shredded radish cakes queued up for on the streets to the slowly savoured soy‑sauce duck and white water fish by the riverside, every bite embodies the gentleness and lively atmosphere of Jiangnan.
