The exhibitions at Perlan Museum centre on the theme "Wonders of Iceland", focusing on glaciers, and are divided into several sections offering a multi‑sensory, multi‑perspective immersive experience.

1. "Glacial Walk"

This is the first stage of the exhibition, where visitors can "step into" a real ice tunnel and experience the cold and mystery inside a glacier.

Inside the ice tunnel, visitors can observe the structure and texture of the glacier up close, feel its physical properties, and learn about the process of glacier formation.

2. "On top of Vatnajökull"

This is a 180‑degree immersive panoramic experience that simulates the view from the top of Vatnajökull, Iceland's largest glacier.

Visitors feel as if they are standing on the glacier and can see dynamically changing polar landscapes, including natural phenomena such as calving glaciers, jökulhlaups (glacial floods), surging glaciers and subglacial eruptions.

These phenomena are triggered through interactive technology; when visitors point to a specific area on the screen, related scientific explanations and animated demonstrations are displayed, vividly showing the interaction between glaciers and the natural environment.

3. "Life in and on glaciers"

Visitors can use a monocular telescope to "zoom in" and observe the surface and interior of glaciers, exploring the unique plant and animal ecology on the ice.

Each zoom level comes with detailed text explanations and microscopic views, showcasing life forms in extreme environments such as microorganisms and moss on the glacier, revealing the scientific truth that glaciers are not "deserts of life".

4. "Disappearing glaciers"

This section presents future predictions for Iceland's glaciers to visitors in a timeline format.

As scientific data is presented, visitors can see the gradual melting of the glaciers and the resulting phenomena such as floods, rising land and intensified volcanic activity.
