Itinerary Reminder

The itinerary is for reference only. On the day of the trip, the schedule may be adjusted due to traffic or weather conditions.

Health Notice

Please confirm that you are in good health and physically fit for high‑altitude mountain climbing and wilderness hiking before registering.

Do not register if you have heart disease, acrophobia, high blood pressure, are pregnant, or have any other conditions unsuitable for outdoor activities. Also, do not register if you are too young or unable to complete the itinerary on your own.

It is recommended to acclimatise to the low‑oxygen, low‑pressure environment at high altitudes in advance and practice pacing on uphill sections.

Safety Notice

High‑altitude mountain climbing and wilderness hiking involve potential dangers; accidents may lead to injury or even death.

During the activity, if any team member encounters a life‑threatening situation, the entire team must act together. The climbing team is considered a legal community of shared risk, and no objections shall be raised to avoid subsequent legal liabilities.

The instructors will do their utmost to ensure the safety of team members. Any injury or death resulting from a member's personal negligence (e.g., losing focus, falling, slipping) shall not be attributed to the Mountain Secret Hiking Club.

All team members must follow the instructor's directions at all times and shall not leave the group without permission. Based on individual physical ability, safety, and the team's return time, the instructors' instructions are final. Anyone who leaves the group without permission and refuses to comply will bear the resulting expenses and legal responsibilities.

Environmental Notice

The high mountain environment is fragile. Strictly no littering or dumping of food waste. Please care for the mountains; pack all personal rubbish in bags and carry it down the mountain.

Accommodation Notice

At the checkout page, please indicate your backup plan: if you are not allocated a mountain hut, would you like to be considered for a tent? If neither a hut nor a tent is available, the trip cannot proceed.

Product Details

Qilai South Peak is one of Taiwan's Hundred Mountains, ranked 39th, with an altitude of 3,358 metres, belonging to the Central Mountain Range. Its broad and majestic stature makes it one of the "Ten Grand Peaks" of Taiwan's high mountains. Nanhua Mountain, also known as Nenggao North Peak, is also one of Taiwan's Hundred Mountains, ranked 74th, with an altitude of 3,184 metres, belonging to the Central Mountain Range. Located at the border between Nantou and Hualien, Qilai South Peak and Nanhua Mountain are the most accessible Hundred Mountains in Taiwan. The itinerary can be easily arranged to traverse both peaks, known in the mountaineering community as "Qilai Nanhua." Enter via the scenic and gentle‑sloped "Nenggao Cross‑ridge Historic Trail," passing through the Yunhai Powerline Maintenance Station and the Three‑tier Waterfall, with an overnight stay at the newly built Tianchi Mountain Villa. The next morning, set off lightly to the two peaks. Along the way, pass the Tianchi fork, cross Tianchi and the arrow bamboo grassland, and reach Qilai South Peak. If the weather cooperates, you can witness the radiant sunrise over a sea of clouds on the mountain.
