Shuangliu National Forest Recreation Area is situated along the South Link Highway in Shihzih Township, Pingtung, covering an area of 1,600 hectares. It is renowned for its unique landscape where two major streams converge. The highlight of the area, Shuangliu Waterfall, stands 25 metres tall and boasts abundant water flow year‑round. The cascading falls, surrounded by a fine mist, create an ideal spot for photography and sightseeing. The forest trails crisscross the park, lined with trees such as sweet gum and mahogany, offering dense shade and rich negative ions. Strolling along these paths allows visitors to enjoy a refreshing forest bath, with rest pavilions and stone benches readily available.
The highest point, Hat Mountain, rises to 650 metres above sea level. From the summit, one can take in panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, as well as the vast scenery of the Pacific Ocean and the Taiwan Strait. Additionally, the park preserves the remnants of Paiwan slate houses, adding a touch of cultural charm. Along the way, visitors can also spot butterflies and hear the chirping of birds, experiencing the rich biodiversity. This spot is not only an excellent destination for camping and picnics, but its wooden boardwalks and lawns are also popular photo spots for social media enthusiasts. Open year‑round from 8:00 to 17:00, the admission ticket offers great value for money, making it a must‑visit attraction near Kenting for relaxation and connecting with nature.

Along the Hat Mountain Trail, visitors can see various representative plants of the Hengchun Peninsula, observing the unique ecological features.

The name "Shuangliu" (meaning "two streams") originates from the confluence of the Daren Creek and the Neiwen Creek, both upper tributaries of the Fenggang River. This location was once voted as the second most beautiful waterfall in Taiwan.

The forest park is rich in negative ions and fresh air. Taking a deep breath here is truly refreshing and uplifting.
