When visiting Kenting in Pingtung, don't miss the dual surprises of Longpan Park and Shuiguaku! Longpan Park, one of the four major scenic spots in Kenting National Park, is a limestone platform formed by uplifted coral reefs. After years of erosion, it has created unique geological features such as fissures and caves. Climbing onto the sea cliffs, you can enjoy a stunning panoramic view of green fields, lush mountains, and the vast Pacific Ocean. It is also one of the few places in Taiwan where you can watch both sunrise and sunset.
At night, Longpan Park has no light pollution and no obstructions, offering a starry sky so brilliant that the Milky Way is visible, making it a top stargazing spot in Taiwan. The adjacent Shuiguaku is rich in ecology; along the walking trails, you can encounter various species of frogs, listen to the symphony of nature, and even spot nocturnal wildlife, immersing yourself in the mysterious atmosphere of the rainforest.
Admission is free, and the best time to visit is from October to April, when the weather is cool and the sky is clear. Whether you seek magnificent landscapes, love ecological observation, or want to capture stunning photos of the Milky Way, the ecological exploration and stargazing experience at Longpan Park and Shuiguaku will bring you an unforgettable natural journey in Kenting!
