Lapu-Lapu City
Lapu-Lapu City is located on Mactan Island in Cebu Province, commemorating the national hero Lapu-Lapu who resisted Magellan. Key attractions include the Lapu-Lapu Shrine (hero statue) and the Mactan Shrine (Magellan's landing site). The Olango Island Wildlife Sanctuary offers excellent ecology. The beaches are suitable for snorkelling and resort leisure. The local cuisine features Cebu Lechon, Sutukil (three-ways fresh fish), Puso (rice wrapped in coconut leaves), and Kinilaw (vinegar-cured raw fish).
