Lapu-Lapu City is located on Mactan Island in Cebu Province, commemorating the national hero Lapu-Lapu who resisted Magellan. Key attractions include the Lapu-Lapu Shrine (hero statue) and the Mactan Shrine (Magellan's landing site). The Olango Island Wildlife Sanctuary offers excellent ecology.
