Hong Kong, full name Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, abbreviated as 'HK', elegantly known as 'Fragrant Harbour', is one of the two special administrative regions of the People's Republic of China. It is also a major city in the Pearl River Delta, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Greater China, the Asia-Pacific region, and one of the global cities. Its territory includes Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, and the 'New Territories', located on the eastern side of the Pearl River Estuary in Guangdong Province. Hong Kong has been rated as one of the world's safest, most economically developed, affluent, competitive, and longest-living cities, and is recognised as one of the 'Four Asian Tigers'.
