Explore London Wildlife at The Regent's Park After Dark Bats and Fungi Walks
Visitors in London can join an evening walking event focusing on nocturnal wildlife and ecology at The Regent's Park & Primrose Hill. The sessions take place on Tuesday 6 October from 6.15pm to 8.15pm and Friday 9 October from 6pm to 8pm. Participation is free, though attendees must be over 18 years of age.
What to Expect on the Walk
The walks are designed to show how the park changes after hours and how urban green spaces support nocturnal wildlife. Participants will use bat detectors to listen to ultrasonic calls from different bat species hunting overhead and learn how scientists identify them by sound and behaviour.

Search for fungi in the dark using ultraviolet torches to see which ones fluoresce.
Discover species of fungi that may support bats.
Explore the wider network of nocturnal species and habitats in the park.

Booking and Practical Details
Tickets are free and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. If the event sells out, visitors can join a waiting list. Those who need to cancel their tickets are asked to do so in advance so others on the waitlist can attend. Enquiries can be sent to helpnaturethrive@royalparks.org.uk.
