Bloodsuckers: Nature's Vampires runs until 11 October 2026. Developed by the Royal Ontario Museum, the exhibition examines creatures that feed on blood, including vampire bats, leeches, mosquitoes, black flies, ticks, and prehistoric-looking lampreys, exploring their biology, folklore, and ecological importance.
Attenborough has supported the Australian Museum for over 40 years, including touring fossil collections, delivering lectures to members, and featuring the Lizard Island Research Station in his Great Barrier Reef documentary. In 2017, the museum awarded him the Lifetime Patron honour, and scientists named a newly identified Tasmanian semi slug, Attenborougharion rubicundus, after him.
