Edinburgh Runs Pirate-Themed Sightseeing Cruises for International Talk Like a Pirate Day

SaveOn 19 September 2026, the Maid of the Forth will run pirate-themed sightseeing cruises to mark International Talk Like a Pirate Day. All sightseeing trips scheduled for that day will adopt the theme, with each cruise lasting 90 minutes.

Activities on board include pirate fancy dress, free face painting, treasure hunts, and dedicated pirate gift bags for children. A Captain Jack Sparrow lookalike will also make a special appearance during the event. Families are encouraged to attend in pirate costumes.
The cruises depart from Hawes Pier in South Queensferry, UK. The venue features accessible parking and a drop-off point, and is partially suitable or suitable for visitors with limited mobility. Pets are also welcome on board. Visitors can check the official Maid of the Forth website for ticket prices and bookings.
