Incheon Lotte Mall Songdo Project Progress
The construction project for Lotte Mall Songdo in Incheon's Songdo International City is moving forward after facing delays due to rising material costs and other factors. The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority (IFEZA) announced that its Landscape Review Committee conditionally approved the Lotte Mall Songdo plan.

Project Conditions and Overview
The IFEZA set specific conditions for the approval, including adjusting the upper and lower designs of the resort to complement the shopping mall design, clarifying media facade presentations, and strengthening the public nature of both internal and external spaces. Lotte plans to complete the architectural permit modification procedures by the end of the year with the target of finishing Lotte Mall Songdo by the end of 2026.
The third phase of the project covers a gross floor area of 285,249 square metres, comprising a shopping mall and a resort spanning from four basements to 26 floors above ground. Lotte has incorporated designs from international architects and proposed new building heights and facades to boost the competitiveness of the resort. The plan now features a 26-storey urban luxury resort alongside a five-storey shopping mall composed of a department store-style premium section and a street mall concept.
Background and Previous Phases
The construction project, situated in the International Business District A1 block at 8-1 Songdo-dong, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, originally received architectural permission in November 2007 for a floor area of 239,473 square metres.
