Greater Sentosa Master Plan Preview
Singapore’s iconic resort island is preparing for a massive overhaul. The Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) has officially unveiled the next chapter of the Greater Sentosa Master Plan (GSMP). Spanning across Sentosa and the adjacent 120-hectare island of Brani, this comprehensive two-decade initiative aims to reshape the region into a world-class leisure and lifestyle powerhouse.

Between April 2024 and March 2025, Sentosa welcomed over 16 million visitors. Upon completion, the expanded Greater Sentosa destination is projected to double its visitor capacity. The master plan will be rolled out progressively, with initial major developments expected to launch from the early 2030s.

Brand-New Attraction Hubs: Brani West and Sensorium
Under the comprehensive master plan, Brani West will serve as one of the largest focal points for novel attractions and large-scale entertainment developments.

Along Sentosa's shoreline, a new flagship venue named Sensorium is currently planned. Envisioned as a premier indoor lifestyle icon, Sensorium will feature multi-purpose spaces designed to accommodate major events, festival activations, and immersive indoor attractions.

Elevated Canopy Walks and Imbiah Enhancements
Nature and elevated views will form a vital part of the updated visitor experience. Perched atop Mount Imbiah, the new Imbiah Canopy will offer dining establishments, retail options, covered event venues, and a treetop skywalk directly connecting guests to Siloso Beach.
Complementing this is the Imbiah Lookout Walk, a sheltered elevated forest canopy trail. Designed to link the existing 350-metre Sensoryscape walkway directly to Imbiah Lookout, this new structure will provide seamless access to the island's broader network of scenic walking trails.
Upgraded Resorts World Sentosa and Revamped Coastlines
Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) is set to undergo significant expansion. Slated for completion in 2030, the new Waterfront Lifestyle Development will introduce a vibrant promenade, an elevated "mountain trail", and an 88-metre-tall light sculpture. Entertainment offerings will be further bolstered by the addition of Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Singapore.
Sentosa's three famous beaches—Siloso, Palawan, and Tanjong—are also scheduled for revitalization. Works will incorporate crucial coastal protection infrastructure alongside lifestyle additions like modern beach clubs, water sports facilities, and floating boardwalks that create an islet-hopping experience across the 3km coastline.
Seamless Connectivity: Island Heart Transport Hub
To manage increased capacity, major transport upgrades are planned across air, sea, land, and waterfront pathways. The new Island Heart Transport Hub will act as a main gateway linking main Sentosa to Pulau Brani.
As part of these transit upgrades, a modern People Mover System is planned to replace the current Sentosa Express. The new system will streamline transit between mainland Singapore, the Island Heart hub, and destinations throughout Greater Sentosa. Additional travel options under exploration include water taxi services and enhanced waterfront connections, operating alongside the existing Singapore Cable Car.
To engage the public, SDC organized a free roving exhibition showcasing the GSMP concepts across major Singapore hubs, including VivoCity, Our Tampines Hub, Jurong Point, Waterway Point, and Sentosa.
