Because the Gold Coast is the greatest place on Earth, we're blessed with beautiful beaches and farmland alike, where all that goodness can be grown happily and healthily.

Here are seven farms where you can grab some straight-out-of-the-ground produce.

Ground Grocer

Ground Grocer is a family-run organic grocery tucked inside Ground Currumbin. They receive daily deliveries of lettuce, cucumber and seasonal veggies straight from their own farm and a crew of local growers, so you're always getting the good stuff. Bonus points go to their resident bees, hard at work keeping the shelves stocked with beautiful honey. If you're into fresh, local and a little bit sweet, this one's for you. Mate & Matt's

Mate & Matt's has been dishing up the goods from Cudgen's rich red volcanic soil for over 25 years, and it's easy to see why locals keep coming back. Think farm-fresh fruit and veg, local eggs, honey, flowers and daily sourdough, all sourced from the Tweed's finest growers (including sister farm Cudgen Road Farms). Open seven days a week, it's a proper paddock-to-plate experience. Feeling peckish? Swing by Thirteen, the onsite cafe, for a damn fine coffee and a bite. Where: 752 Cudgen Rd, Cudgen

Tropical Fruit World

Tropical Fruit World spans 175 acres in the Tweed Valley — apparently the perfect place to grow tropical fruit. You can (and should) pick up boxes of seasonal tropical fruit, plus avocados and treats like farm honey, macadamia nuts and dried fruit. Order online and opt for delivery if you like. Blueberry Fields

Blueberry Fields is a family-owned orchard nestled in the scenic Byron hinterland of northern NSW. About an hour's drive from the Gold Coast, it's a perfect spot for a fun day out. A small farm-gate stall sits in front of the orchard at 769 Fernleigh Road, Brooklet — when fruit is available, you'll find it there. You can also catch them at Northern NSW farmers' markets, including the Byron Farmers Market, New Brighton Farmers Market and Mullumbimby Farmers Market. Where: 769 Fernleigh Rd, Brooklet, NSW

Chambers Flat Strawberry Farm

Chambers Flat Strawberry Farm is a family-run operation spanning generations of strawberry growers, turning their passion into a full-blown family affair. Swing by their Farm Shop any day of the week for farm-fresh strawberries and mouthwatering strawberry ice cream, crafted from their own berries and vanilla ice cream and blended right before your eyes.

During the growing season (July–December), you can pick your own (PYO) strawberries in the fields. It's roughly an hour's drive from the Gold Coast. Where: 912 Chambers Flat Rd, Chambers Flat

Nosey Gnome Organics

For certified organic produce picked fresh and grown with care, head to Nosey Gnome Organics perched on Tamborine Mountain. This family-run farm has been operating since 2002, so they know a thing or two about serving up the best organic produce — an exceptional lineup of seasonal organic veggies, meats, breads, nuts and more. Shop in-store at Tamborine, or find them at the Robina and Helensvale markets every weekend. Bonus: you can click and collect your groceries from your closest market. Tweed Valley Beef & Pork

After more than just fruit and veg? Tweed Valley Beef & Pork has you covered. This family-owned farm raises Murray Grey and Angus cattle that roam freely on lush Tweed Valley pastures (all MSA accredited and hormone-free), alongside free-range pork from paddock-raised pigs. Straight from farm to fridge, it doesn't get much better. Orders can be picked up at their local Murwillumbah butcher, or delivered across Northern NSW and SE Queensland for an additional fee.
