New Kiyomizu-dera Line Sightseeing Bus: Direct Access to Kiyomizu-dera from Kyoto Station

SaveStarting July 1, 2026, Keihan Bus launched the Kiyomizu-dera Line sightseeing bus as a limited-time service. Operating on weekdays, it provides direct access between Kyoto Station, Keihan Shichijo Station, and popular spots including Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Nishi Hongan-ji Temple.

Together with the "Sightseeing Express Bus" that runs from Kyoto Station on weekends and holidays, the new weekday Kiyomizu-dera Line lets visitors reach the Kiyomizu-dera area quickly and easily from Kyoto Station every day. These sightseeing bus routes not only offer a smoother, more comfortable journey for visitors, but also help ease crowding on buses used by local residents.
Four Highlights of the Kiyomizu-dera Line
1. Guaranteed seating for a comfortable ride — enjoy a comfortable journey with a guaranteed seat, even during Kyoto's peak tourist season.
2. Onboard commentary and guided walk (selected departures; advance reservation required) — in addition to onboard sightseeing commentary, the "one-way ticket with guide" includes a guided walk from Gojozaka to the Kiyomizu-dera stage.
3. Same-day tickets available — one-way tickets can be purchased in advance or on the day of departure, subject to seat availability. Pay by cash or IC transit card when boarding.
4. Special bonus: limited-edition original Tomica now available! — a special ticket package includes an exclusive "Keihan Bus Original Tomica" mini bus model and a limited-edition display card. Available while supplies last.

Operating Period
Weekdays (Mon–Fri) from Wednesday, July 1, 2026 to Friday, January 29, 2027 (planned). No service on weekends, public holidays, August 13–14, December 29–31, and January 4.
Fares and Payment
● One-way ticket: Adults ¥500 / Children ¥250. Payment: cash or IC transit card when boarding, or advance payment via the Okoshi Bus booking site (select sections only).
● One-way ticket with guide (includes Kiyomizu-dera admission): Adults ¥1,500 / Children ¥1,000. Payment: advance reservation and prepayment via the Okoshi Bus booking system or other designated booking channels.
