The Gold Coast has just become even more visitor-friendly, with the latest phase of the G:link light rail now linking Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads. The freshly opened 6.7-kilometre extension serves eight new stations, putting the southern Gold Coast's best beaches, dining spots, markets, breweries and nature experiences within effortless reach.
Whether you're keen on a sunrise summit at Burleigh Headland National Park, a lazy market-hopping day, or a full-blown food and drinks weekend, the tram lets you ditch the car and cruise the coastline at your own pace — with frequent services, wallet-friendly fares and even dedicated surfboard racks. Here's everything you need to know, plus what to see and do at every stop.
Need to Know
The new line links Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads with eight stations: Mermaid Beach, Mermaid Beach South, Nobby Beach, Miami North, Miami, Christine Avenue, Second Avenue and Burleigh Heads. The full journey takes approximately 17 minutes, with trams running every 7.5 minutes between 7am and 7pm, and a last departure at 12:08am.
Fares across Queensland's public transport network are a flat 50 cents per trip, regardless of distance. Simply tap on and off with a go card or contactless payment, or grab a paper ticket at the station. The tram is also fully accessible for travellers with mobility needs.
