Musée d'Orsay Pays Tribute to Mary Cassatt: First Major French Retrospective of the Pioneering American Impressionist

Mary Cassatt is a key figure of the Impressionist group, yet a hundred years after her death, the Musée d'Orsay is finally hosting the very first major French retrospective of her work. From 6 October 2026 to 31 January 2027, the temple of Impressionism will showcase the contribution and singularity of her oeuvre, tracing her path marked by a quest for personal independence — she acquired an estate in the Oise region that gave her financial security and artistic inspiration — as well as her activism for women's rights.
