Over in Odaiba, you can now ride Toyota's futuristic "e-Palette" vehicle to explore the sprawling bay area — the "PALETTE RIDE" service is up and running, and the same vehicle platform also powers "PALETTE MARCHÉ," a mobile pop-up shop. Meanwhile, the fully electric passenger vessel "Have Fun Nihonbashi e-LINER" connects Nihonbashi with Toyosu, offering a fresh way to travel across Tokyo's waterways. These services transform the journey to your destination into a memorable experience — the latest reason to fall in love with Tokyo.

New Mobility in Odaiba — PALETTE RIDE & PALETTE MARCHÉ

Odaiba is beloved for its open waterfront atmosphere, but exploring this vast district often means more walking than you'd expect. "PALETTE RIDE" is a brand-new mobility service designed to make Odaiba sightseeing smoother and more enjoyable. Using Toyota's next-generation "e-Palette" battery EV, the service launched in October 2025 and is currently free to ride. Departing from Tokyo Teleport Station, the route runs through Symbol Promenade Park, connecting Odaiba, Aomi, and Ariake. Large windows let you soak in the park's lush greenery and waterfront views even on short rides. The e-Palette is a multi-purpose battery EV developed by Toyota; the PALETTE RIDE version seats up to 11 people including the driver, prioritising safety with slow, manual operation. Its low-floor design, wide sliding doors, and electric ramp make it easy to board with a wheelchair or stroller. While the e-Palette has operated on a limited basis in places like Yokohama, in Odaiba it's more than just transportation — it's a sightseeing experience. From the "Deai-bashi Station" stop, DiverCity Tokyo Plaza is about a 3-minute walk. The "Tokyo Teleport Station" stop is near Toyota Arena Tokyo, which opened in October 2025. From "Ariake Station," you can access Yume no Ohashi Bridge and Tokyo Dream Park. Routes may vary depending on events and congestion, but the service operates continuously to support exploration of the Odaiba-Ariake area — a district packed with attractions like Odaiba Seaside Park, Tokyo Aqua Symphony, Zepp DiverCity (TOKYO), and stunning backdrops of Rainbow Bridge and Tokyo Tower. The e-Palette also moonlights as "PALETTE MARCHÉ," a mobile shop that pops up around Symbol Promenade Park for collaboration merchandise events. The "Have Fun Nihonbashi e-LINER" — launched under the vision of "future water transport starting from Nihonbashi" — is a fully electric passenger vessel that revives Edo-era water culture for the modern age. It connects Nihonbashi and Toyosu in roughly 25 minutes each way. The 17-metre silver hull is propelled by twin electric motors and can carry up to 62 people including crew. With no engine noise or fuel odour, the ride is quiet, comfortable, and kind to the environment. The vessel is fully barrier-free, allowing wheelchair access, and can accommodate up to two bicycles per sailing. Onboard amenities include free Wi-Fi, power outlets, and — since it's electric — emergency power supply capability during disasters. About 10 minutes of each journey includes deck time for taking in the scenery. Boarding points are at Nihonbashi Pier or the pier beside Urban Dock LaLaport Toyosu; advance online booking is recommended.
