Other locations such as Shinjuku Minamillumi, Marunouchi Naka-dori, Tokyo Midtown Hibiya, and Tokyo Midtown in Roppongi offer varied lighting displays ranging from champagne-gold avenues to scheduled garden sound-and-light performances. Meanwhile, the popular Ao no Dokutsu SHIBUYA remains undecided for the 2026 season according to Tokyo Metropolitan Government ARTE TOKYO materials, with alternative local events appearing on the schedule.
Practical Tips
* Timing Your Visits: To see specific holiday events, visit before Christmas to catch headline shows at Tokyo Midtown and holiday markets. For fewer crowds and quieter walks, January offers a clear window to view installations like Keyakizaka and Hibiya.
* Transportation: Many spots are located directly outside major transit hubs, such as Shinjuku Southern Terrace at the south exit of Shinjuku Station and Yebisu Garden Place accessible via a short Skywalk ride from JR Ebisu Station.
* Admission Fees: Most street illuminations and open plazas like Marunouchi, Roppongi, and Hibiya are free to view, while amusement parks like Yomiuriland require admission tickets or afternoon passes.
