About[Exhibition Overview]
The Egypt Cairo Electronic Information and Communication Technology Exhibition, abbreviated as CAIRO ICT, is a leading professional information and communication technology exhibition in the African region. Since its inaugural edition in 1996, the exhibition has consistently been a highly significant event for the communication and information industry in the Middle East and Africa. Entering the 21st century, the global development pace of information and communication technology has accelerated, and Africa has gradually grown into a vital emerging information and communication market worldwide.
[Exhibition Scale and Concurrent Events]
The previous edition of the exhibition featured a total exhibition area of 40,000 square metres, with 590 exhibiting companies from various countries and regions including China, Chinese Taiwan, India, Russia, Dubai, Germany, Kenya, and others. The number of professional visitors reached 88,000 person-visits.
Concurrently, the exhibition hosted a variety of conferences and seminar activities, with 289 industry speakers sharing their insights across different sessions. The activities covered multiple segments, including the Cairo ICT themed conferences, PAFIX, the Innovation Arena, cybersecurity conferences, and specialised educational conferences. The comprehensive programme offered all participants valuable opportunities to gain industry insights and facilitate knowledge sharing.
[Exhibition Participation Value]
The exhibition has seen significant annual growth in the number of professional visitors, with their level of professionalism consistently improving. This helps exhibiting companies to open up new markets and tap into the continuously growing local market demand. The ongoing local infrastructure development projects have generated substantial demand for the import of communication and electronic equipment, and a number of Chinese enterprises have successfully found suitable partners locally through this exhibition.
Egypt has signed trade agreements with many countries in Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, and Africa, allowing products manufactured within Egypt to freely enter the markets of these regional economic blocs, with full exemption from customs duties and no quantitative quota restrictions. This further enhances the commercial value of the exhibition, and CAIRO ICT is continuously driving the development of the telecommunications and information technology sectors in the region.
