Product Details

The Sanctuary of Truth in Pattaya was first constructed in 1981, located in a tranquil area by the sea in northern Pattaya. The entire building is made of wood and hand‑carved, appearing very new yet looking extremely ancient, as all the wood used is at least 150 years old, exuding an antique aura when viewed. Since the building is by the sea and subject to sea breeze erosion, all carvings are coated with a colourless protective oil, which over time develops a moss‑like green hue, making the whole structure look even more ancient. The building is adorned with numerous Buddha statues and celestial beings, leading some visitors to mistakenly think it is a temple, when in fact it is merely an artwork.

930-5.pngThe Sanctuary of Truth is privately built and does not belong to the Thai government. Its founder, a descendant of Chinese from Guangdong, has passed away, and the construction is now continued by the founder's fifth son. Due to the entirely hand‑carved wooden structure, progress is slow, and it is currently only partially completed. The Sanctuary of Truth is not only an artwork but also a fusion of various religious cultures and philosophies. Its design styles incorporate influences from India, Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, China, and others.

Visitors to this site can not only admire the world's unique artworks but also participate in leisure activities such as elephant riding, horse riding, carriage rides, wooden boat rides, yacht trips, and enjoy traditional Thai dance and sword‑fighting performances.930-3.png
