Those who have taken the Peak Tram will surely agree that riding this revered and unique mode of transport is the best way to get to know Hong Kong. The Peak Tram commenced service on 30 May 1888. Every year, millions of tourists from around the world take the Peak Tram to experience the dynamic city's ever‑changing scenery and the nearby natural landscapes from the most spectacular vantage point.

The Peak is Hong Kong's premier tourist attraction. It not only boasts stunning views and is full of shopping and dining delights, but also features several unique must‑visit spots, offering you a diverse travel experience and allowing you to leisurely immerse yourself in Hong Kong's lifestyle and culture. To reach The Peak, taking one of the world's oldest and most famous funicular railways is definitely an unforgettable experience!

The entire railway is hauled by steel cables. The train climbs diagonally up the hillside from an altitude of 28 metres to 396 metres (about 1,300 feet). Along the way, passengers can enjoy a panoramic view of Victoria Harbour. Sitting in the carriage, one can't help but lean backwards, as the slope gradient ranges from 4 to 27 degrees on certain sections! High‑rise buildings and lush woods seem to tilt to one side, it is indeed a remarkable sensation! The Peak Tram covers a total distance of 1,365 metres, and the computerised train takes only about 7 minutes for the journey. The tram can carry up to 120 passengers at a time, including 95 seats and 25 standing spaces, operating over 90 trips daily. The unique wave‑patterned corridor flooring in the carriage is a distinctive design feature, making it easier for passengers to stand on the slope.

The terminus is located on the third floor of the Peak Tower. Visitors can shop and dine at the Peak Tower, as well as visit the wax museum located within. Of course, don't forget to gaze down from the observation deck at the Peak Tower to take in the breathtaking night view of Hong Kong!
