Khao Kheow Open Zoo

Khao Kheow Open Zoo was originally part of a national‑level forest reserve of the Kingdom of Thailand. In 1974, under the supervision of the Wildlife Management Division, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Thailand established it as an independent zoo and wildlife sanctuary. Khao Kheow Open Zoo is located between Bangkok and Pattaya, encompassing hill evergreen forests, mixed deciduous forests, and vast grassland woodlands, nurturing a rich variety of wildlife. It covers an area of approximately 2.5 million square metres (about 1,550 acres) and houses more than 8,000 species of animals.

You can get up close with wildlife in a safe open environment with dense forests and waterfalls that bear no traces of artificial modification. There are also small animal feeding sessions and the "Journey to the Jungle" animal show held three times a day, along with various other activities for getting close to animals.
