Unlike ordinary fireworks displays, Tsuchiura fireworks are renowned throughout Japan for their unique starburst fireworks, earning the reputation of "Japan's Best Starburst Fireworks Show". In 1959, the "Rapid Fire Continuous Launch" competition category was officially established, and in 1982 it was renamed to the classic starburst category. For decades, Japan's top fireworks technicians have competed on this stage, defending the glory of their craft. With up to 25,000 fireworks lighting up the night sky each year and hundreds bursting in rapid succession, the exquisite timing and layered variations illuminate the crisp autumn night.
