Every New Year, countless visitors come to pay their respects, praying for academic success and career prosperity, drawing energy and hope for life in the tranquil atmosphere of this historic temple.

Next, visit Mizusawa Kannon Temple, with its 1,300‑year history. Its official name is Gotokusan Mizusawa Temple, and it enshrines the Eleven‑Faced Kannon Bodhisattva. The principal hidden Buddha is only unveiled once every 33 years, adding to its sacred and mysterious aura. After paying your respects, be sure to try Mizusawa Udon, one of Japan's Three Great Udon Noodles.
