The Sun Moon Lake Ropeway is generally closed for maintenance on the first Wednesday of every month and will not be open to the public.

Additional closure dates may be announced as required for annual major maintenance.

The Sun Moon Lake Ropeway may extend its operating hours for major events (such as the Cherry Blossom Festival).

Operating hours may also be adjusted due to weather conditions, power outages, or system inspections and maintenance. Any changes to operating hours will be subject to on‑site notices or official website announcements.

I received my voucher today and noticed that the validity date has already passed. Can I still use it?

As the system has not been updated and the voucher validity is incorrect, please contact our customer service to confirm the voucher validity period.

Can I board the cable car from Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village?

We apologise, but this cable car ticket can only be used at the main Sun Moon Lake station at Ita Thao for boarding the cable car.

Can I change the usage date of my order?

This is an open‑dated ticket, and you may use it within the voucher validity period.

If I cannot use all of them in one day, can I use them the next day?

The validity period after redemption starts from the date the first voucher is redeemed, and the remaining vouchers must be used within 14 days. Any unused vouchers after this period will be void.

Why did I only receive one voucher when I booked for multiple people?

Each person receives a separate voucher for this activity. After receiving your voucher, you can scroll down to check if there are additional vouchers.

The lake cruise ticket is valid for one full circuit around the lake (returning to the original boarding pier). If you need to disembark at multiple stops, an additional fee will be charged according to on‑site regulations. Please refer to the merchant's on‑site announcements.

For safety reasons, if the cruise is suspended due to adverse weather conditions such as heavy fog or typhoons, the Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Administration will announce a sailing ban, and refunds will not be granted on these grounds.

Bicycles are allowed on board for a cleaning fee of NT$100 per bicycle. However, due to different vessel types, not all boats can carry bicycles. Please check with the staff in advance.

Please keep your boarding ticket safe for inspection. Lost tickets must be repurchased.

The package has a 14‑day validity period, meaning all tickets must be used within 14 days (including the day of the first ticket redemption) from the date any ticket is first redeemed.

Please present your order QR Code at the self‑service ticket redemption machine at the 2/F service counter of Sun Moon Lake Ropeway Station to redeem a paper ticket. Then proceed with the paper ticket to the 3/F boarding platform, where the staff will collect the ticket and stamp your hand before boarding.

When using your order QR Code to ride the Sun Moon Lake Ropeway, boarding is only permitted at the main Sun Moon Lake station at Ita Thao. Entry from the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village end is not allowed.

The Sun Moon Lake area frequently experiences seasonal thunderstorms. For visitor safety, the facility will be temporarily closed when there is a risk of lightning. We recommend checking the Sun Moon Lake Ropeway official website or calling ahead to confirm whether the facility is open before your visit.

Cable car passengers are only permitted to board at the main Sun Moon Lake station at Ita Thao (entry from the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village end is not allowed).

Bicycles, unboxed pets, or other large sharp objects are prohibited on the cable car (except guide dogs).

For safety reasons, if the cruise is suspended due to adverse weather conditions such as heavy fog or typhoons, the Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Administration will announce a sailing ban, and refunds will not be granted on these grounds.
