When Kyoto's autumn maples spread across the mountains, the gilded Golden Pavilion, the whispering bamboo groves, and the night train chasing the maples — this exclusive one‑day tour departing from Osaka or Kyoto condenses Kyoto's most enchanting autumn scenery into a single day 🍁 Admire ancient temples and crimson maples by day, and board the illuminated train at night: a day that connects the golden glow of Kinkaku‑ji, the bamboo shadows of Arashiyama, and the night maple train — capturing Kyoto's rich and stunning autumnal beauty all at once.

The first stop of the journey is Kinkaku‑ji Temple (Rokuon‑ji). This Zen temple, first built in 1397, is renowned worldwide for its golden leaf‑covered Shariden Hall. In autumn, layers of red maple leaves surround the temple grounds, with vivid fiery leaves and the dazzling golden pavilion reflected on the lake, creating a striking contrast of warm and cool tones. Following the path from Kuromon Gate into the depths of the garden, the area around Sekkatei Teahouse is an exceptional vantage point to view the Golden Pavilion blending with the maple forest — a complete picture of the ancient temple's autumn beauty.

Next, head to the Arashiyama area for free time. Togetsu‑kyo Bridge, spanning the Katsura River, is a classic Arashiyama landmark. Stroll along the riverbanks, where mountain scenery and flowing water are accompanied by maples lining the shores. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site Tenryu‑ji Temple and quietly appreciate the profound Sogenchi Pond Garden; step into the Sagano Bamboo Grove Path, where tall bamboo stands tall and a gentle breeze rustles through the leaves; or head to Jojakko‑ji Temple, where the maples of Mount Ogura blaze in crimson, stirring the heart with autumn's charm.

In the evening, board the exclusive seasonal Arashiyama Sagano Romantic Train illuminated service for a ride of approximately 30 minutes. The autumn‑only night maple service sets off, with warm lights softly illuminating the deep valley. The red maples bloom hazily in the darkness, as if stepping into a dreamlike painting — creating a one‑of‑a‑kind autumn romance.
In a single day, collect Kyoto's daytime temple maple views and the tender romance of night‑time red leaves — experiencing the rare seasonal scenery of Kansai autumn.
