Activity Flow
Ticket Collection and Storage: Collect tickets and exchange equipment at the visitor centre. Lockers cost RMB 40 for small / RMB 60 for large, or you can leave your belongings in your car in the car park.
Going Up the Mountain: Take the sightseeing shuttle → Magic Carpet Ride (3‑4 minutes) → Walk 15‑20 minutes to the canyoning starting point (the Wangzha route takes 5‑10 minutes longer than the Changwan route).
Canyoning: Put on protective gear (life jacket, helmet, elbow and knee pads) → Descend along the stream → Diving platforms / slides / abseiling → Change equipment at the end.
Rafting: Walk 5 minutes to the rafting starting point, put on a life jacket and board the raft, and hold onto the handrails throughout the journey.
Showering: Changing rooms on the second floor of the visitor centre. Hot water is available, but queues can be long during peak season. You may bring your own hairdryer.
Equipment Recommendations
Essential: Non‑slip water shoes (open‑toe sandals/sports shoes are not allowed), quick‑dry long‑sleeved top and trousers or swimwear, a waterproof phone pouch (test its seal in advance), spare clothes and a towel.
Optional: Goggles/swimming goggles, water scoops/water guns, energy snacks, sunscreen, insect repellent and a waterproof waist pouch.
Not provided: Toiletries or hairdryers (you can bring your own to avoid queuing).
Important Notes
Water temperature: The stream water is quite cold. It is open from April to October. It is recommended to wear a thermal swimsuit or long‑sleeved quick‑dry clothing, and splash some water on yourself to acclimatise before entering.
Safety: You can still take part even if you cannot swim (the life jacket provides sufficient buoyancy), but it is recommended to go with companions. When jumping into the water, pinch your nose to avoid inhaling water. The rocks are slippery, so walk slowly.
Physical exertion: The whole route is demanding, so do not go on an empty stomach. The Wangzha route has several exit points along the way; if you feel scared, you can give up at any time and head to the rafting.
Belongings: Keep your ticket card in your life jacket pocket (needed for subsequent ticket checks). Try not to bring valuables. It is recommended to secure your glasses with a strap.
