No need to worry about transport arrangements, no need to agonise over which attractions to pick — depart from Fukuoka Hakata Station and unlock Oita's three treasure spots in a single day, immersively experiencing Kyushu's culture and natural beauty for an effortless, enjoyable short trip!

08:30 Set off promptly from Hakata Station Chikushi Exit, avoiding peak crowds and beginning an efficient, comfortable one‑day journey. 09:00–10:20, arrive at Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, steeped in 1,100 years of history, with 80 minutes of ample visiting time to explore this revered site across Japan. It enshrines Sugawara no Michizane, the "God of Learning" and "God of Calligraphy", attracting 7 million visitors each year who come to pray and seek blessings. Students and parents write their wishes for success in exams on wooden votive plaques. The grounds are surrounded by over 6,000 plum trees, with the "Flying Plum" and "Empress Plum" beautifully complementing each other. The Momoyama‑style main hall and the treasure hall housing national treasures offer scenic beauty in every season, exuding the serene grandeur of an ancient temple, while diverse festivals carry on a thousand years of tradition.

12:00–14:00, step into the healing mountain town of Yufuin, with 120 minutes of leisurely time to discover Kyushu's premier hot spring resort. Originally named Yufuin, the town was renamed after merging with Yunohira village in 1955, though the station and basin still bear the old name. Its spring output ranks third in Japan, with wisps of steam rising through the mountains, offering both the warmth of hot springs and the coolness of a summer retreat. As you wander through the streets, Japanese charm and relaxed comfort greet you at every turn.

14:30–15:30, head to Beppu's Umi Jigoku (Sea Hell) (admission not included), spending 60 minutes exploring this natural wonder — one of Beppu's eight hells — and witnessing the fantastical scenery created by high‑temperature spring water. 15:50–16:20, visit Kamado Jigoku, with 30 minutes of immersive experience of this unique hot spring landscape, plus complimentary onsen eggs and ramune soda, tasting the age‑old tradition passed down through the hells' high heat.

18:30 Arrive back at Hakata Station Chikushi Exit, bringing the one‑day tour to a perfect conclusion. Warm reminder: the tour does not include the Beppu Ropeway fee, which must be paid on‑site. Adult reference price: ¥1,800 (tax incl.), and only cash is accepted — please prepare in advance. In the event of severe weather, the ropeway ride will be replaced with Umi Jigoku (Sea Hell).
