(1) Yanagawa Main Store: 24‑5 Asahimachi, Yanagawa City, Fukuoka Prefecture 832‑0022;
(2) Dazaifu Ekimae Store: 〒818‑0117 Fukuoka Prefecture, Dazaifu City, Saifu, 1 Chome−14−25 1F;
(1) Train: Take the train from Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin Station) to Nishitetsu Yanagawa Station (approx. 1 hour ride), then walk 11 minutes to arrive;
(2) Walk 1 minute from Nishitetsu Dazaifu Station;
(1) This activity is not recommended for pregnant women;
(2) From May to August, a Japanese yukata (summer kimono) will be provided instead;
(3) For the best experience, it is recommended to avoid wearing high‑neck clothing;
(4) The store is located in Yanagawa City, about 1 hour from Fukuoka city centre. Please arrive on time;
(5) As the kimono is fastened tightly with ropes, this activity is not recommended for pregnant women. (A consent form must be signed.) Please note that we are not responsible for accidents, etc.;
(6) If your chest, waist or hip measurement exceeds 100cm, you may not be able to wear the kimono;
(7) Customers must return the kimono by 17:00. Return between 17:00‑18:00 will incur an additional fee of JPY 1,650. Return after 18:00 will incur an additional fee of JPY 3,300. The store is open until 19:00;

Take a wooden boat and glide along the Yanagawa River while the boatman chants poems by local Japanese poets. Alternatively, you may choose to visit Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, one of the most important shrines in Fukuoka, dedicated to the great scholar Sugawara no Michizane. Wander through the shrine grounds in a gorgeous kimono and watch students praying for academic success. Wherever you decide to go, there will be plenty of beautiful photo opportunities—don't forget to bring a fully charged camera!
