Located within the Qingliangfeng Nature Reserve, the Ten Gate Gorge is composed of three distinct scenic areas: Sword Gate, Tiger Gate, and Dragon Gate, each with its own unique charm. Renowned for its breathtaking natural scenery, it served as a filming location for classic period dramas such as the new version of A Chinese Ghost Story and The Butterfly Lovers, making it a popular destination that blends picturesque landscapes with cinematic appeal.

Within the scenic area, the ten‑kilometre‑long canyon boasts picturesque scenery, while the nearly hundred‑kilometre‑long natural stone Great Wall is majestic and imposing. The 30,000 acres of primitive forest are mysterious and serene, with the landscape offering distinctive charms in each season. Every severe winter, the waterfalls freeze completely, snow‑capped peaks stand tall, and the land is covered in ice and snow for thousands of miles, presenting a rare "Northern Landscape" in Jiangnan. The ice cascades and frozen waterfalls are highly ornamental. The area also features an outdoor rock climbing base, with a variety of outdoor sports activities that are popular among outdoor enthusiasts.

Since ancient times, Ten Gate Gorge has been a strategic military location, also known as the "Zhejiang Gate." It boasts profound cultural heritage, combining historical relics with natural landscapes. Currently, the Tiger Gate and Sword Gate scenic areas are open to the public.

The Sword Gate Scenic Area was historically ranked first among the "Ten Scenic Spots of Tangchang" and is hailed as the "Number One Stone Gate of China." The natural stone Great Wall stretches for hundreds of kilometres. Due to numerous gaps in the stone wall, 27 stone gates of different styles have naturally formed. The most stunning among them is the Small Stone Gate, with a gap of less than 7 metres but a height of up to 100 metres, appearing majestic and grand. The stone gates and stone Great Wall connect with surrounding peaks, encircling several villages to form a natural stone city, featuring a strategically important terrain and a unique landscape.

The Dragon Gate Scenic Area features one of the largest waterfall clusters in Eastern China, the "Eighteen Dragon Pools." Eighteen major waterfalls cascade down from thousand‑foot cliffs, forming clustered waterfalls and chains of pools, which legend says were the dwelling place of the Dragon King. Surrounding the Dragon Pools are over 30,000 acres of primeval forest, home to more than a thousand ancient and famous trees, with an average age exceeding 200 years and the oldest reaching up to 800 years. The ecological environment remains pristine and intact, making it a natural oxygen bar.
