The following is a detailed itinerary to help you sketch out your journey blueprint in advance:

Every morning at 9:00, we will gather and depart from the Tourist Distribution Centre at the West Square of Hangzhou East Station, saving you the hassle of transport planning so you can fully immerse yourself in the scenery. The first stop of the itinerary is West Lake, where you will take a cruise boat on the lake – the best way to experience the feeling of 'travelling within a painting'. As the boat glides, the emerald waves ripple, willow branches gently brush the shore, distant mountains appear dark, and the nearby waters are misty, perfectly embodying the tenderness of the Jiangnan water town. A key highlight is a visit to 'Three Pools Mirroring the Moon', the foremost of the Ten Scenes of West Lake. This largest island in the lake, shaped like the character 'tian', features a lake within the island and an island within the lake, with a zigzag bridge winding through it. Ancient structures like the Kai Wang Pavilion and the 'My Heart Is in Sympathy' Pavilion are dotted among the green shade. The three stone pagodas on the lake surface south of the island were built during the dredging of West Lake by Su Shi of the Northern Song Dynasty. Their unique design, hollow with five openings, creates a spectacular sight when lanterns are lit on moonlit nights, forming the 'eighteen reflections of the pagodas'. Their image is even imprinted on the back of the one‑yuan RMB note, making them an unmissable photo spot.

Leaving West Lake, we will head to Lingyin Temple, nestled deep within the green mountains. This millennium‑old ancient temple, first built in the first year of the Xianhe era of the Eastern Jin Dynasty by the eminent Indian monk Huili, has a history of nearly 1,700 years and is a core symbol of Buddhist culture in Hangzhou. Entering the temple, the red walls and black tiles contrast with the lush pines and cypresses, and the lingering incense smoke creates a profound sense of Zen. Inside the Mahavira Hall, the seated statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, standing 19.6 metres tall, is meticulously carved from 24 pieces of camphor wood, appearing resplendent and solemn. The Song Dynasty camphor wood statue of Skanda is vivid in expression, while the statue of the Jigong monk in the Jigong Hall is lively and expressive, allowing one to feel the solemnity of the Dharma and the warmth of humanity. Light a stick of incense here, pray quietly, and you can temporarily leave the worldly hustle and enjoy the peace of the Buddhist temple.

Adjacent to Lingyin Temple, Feilai Peak represents a perfect fusion of nature and culture. Legend has it that Huili, seeing the extraordinary beauty of this mountain, exclaimed, 'This is a small peak from Vulture Peak in Central India, flown here who knows when', hence its name. The mountain is filled with grotesque rocks and crisscrossing caves. Caves like Qinglin Cave and Yuru Cave are refreshingly cool, Cold Spring Stream flows gently by, and the dense bamboos and pines block out the sun, creating a paradise‑like atmosphere. Even more awe‑inspiring are the cliffside carvings on the mountain walls. 115 niches with over 390 statues, first carved during the Five Dynasties period, span the Song, Yuan, and Ming dynasties, embodying both the gentle style of Han Chinese Buddhism and the robust style of Tibetan Buddhism. This is the largest group of grotto statues in the Jiangnan region and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Strolling through, you can look up to admire the masterful stone carving art and listen to the gentle rustling of the wind through the forest, fully experiencing the wonders of nature and cultural depth.

Towards the end of the itinerary, we will return along the same route to Hangzhou East Station, concluding this fulfilling one‑day trip.
