Nestled along the azure coast of Sanya, Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone unfolds with mountains and sea as its canvas and Zen Buddhism as its soul. As a National 5A scenic area and the southernmost Buddhist sacred site in China, it is a renowned destination for religious, blessing, and longevity culture. Here, you can revel in the breathtaking natural scenery where mountains meet the sea, visit numerous Buddhist landmarks, and admire the world‑famous 108‑metre Nanshan Sea Guanyin statue. Immersed in Zen tranquillity, you can cleanse your soul, rediscover the pure joy of returning to nature, and embark on a worry‑free, healing journey of blessings.

Travel with ease and unlock an efficient sightseeing experience. The scenic area boasts well‑developed transport facilities. The pre‑scenic‑area shuttle bus offers complimentary round‑trip service. Self‑driving visitors can park at any of the P1–P5 car parks, catch the shuttle at designated stops to reach the Visitor Centre directly, and conveniently return via the shuttle pick‑up zone at the Visitor Centre. The entire journey is smooth and hassle‑free, saving you the trouble of rushing around. Alternatively, you can take the Sanle Tourist Railway sightseeing train. The train incorporates tropical elements such as blue skies and coconut groves, and is equipped with smart facilities including self‑service beverage machines and AI photo check‑ins. It takes just 27 minutes to reach Nanshan North Station from Sanya Station. Upon exiting, seamlessly transfer to the complimentary shuttle bus for direct access to the scenic area, enjoying a one‑stop "high‑speed rail + shuttle" travel experience that makes your trip relaxing from the very start.

The itinerary is packed with highlights, offering an immersive experience of prayer and scenic beauty. The recommended route begins at the Bu Er Fa Men (Gate of Non‑Duality), which serves as the scenic area's entrance landmark and symbolises the great wisdom of Buddhism, marking the starting point of your pilgrimage. Just a few hundred metres away lies the departure station of the scenic area's shuttle bus, making your journey all the more convenient. Further ahead stands the Tang‑dynasty‑style Nanshan Temple, whose scale is second to none in the South China region. Solemn and serene, the temple offers complimentary incense. As you stroll through, the distant tolling of bells mingles with the curling incense smoke, exuding a timeless Zen ambience.

Inside the Hall of Thirty‑Three Guanyin Manifestations, a collection of thirty‑three incarnations of Bodhisattva Guanyin is enshrined. Each statue differs in form and gleams resplendently, with exquisite craftsmanship that inspires awe. Here, you can also experience complimentary scripture copying, appreciating Zen through the flow of brush and ink while embracing the purifying influence of Buddhist culture. At the journey's end, the Sea Guanyin Holy Statue stands gracefully atop the South China Sea. With its three‑faced unified form—one holding a pearl, one a sutra box, and one a lotus—it embodies compassion, wisdom, and peace. Ascend to the lotus pedestal to personally "hug the Buddha's foot," gaze out at the azure sea and sailing shadows, and let the sea breeze wash away your worldly distractions.

Within the scenic area, the all‑access sightseeing car pass offers a convenient and effortless way to get around, connecting all attractions. Along the way, coconut breezes rustle and flowers bloom in abundance—every snapshot is a healing masterpiece. After exploring to your heart's content, savour the refreshing and delicious vegetarian cuisine at Yuan Qi Lou, which continues the Zen‑inspired flavours. The distinctive cultural and creative souvenirs come in a rich variety, letting you take a piece of Nanshan's blessings home with you. Head to Nanshan, ride the sightseeing train to enjoy the scenery en route, take the shuttle for effortless travel, offer prayers and wishes amidst the Buddhist splendour, let the mountains and sea heal your soul, and let blessings accompany you on your way forward.
