In Montreux, nestled between the Alps and Lake Geneva, this city of music hailed by Freddie Mercury as a "sanctuary for the soul", a unique walking tour awaits fans of Queen. Led by a local veteran who not only organises the annual "Freddie Celebration Days" music festival but also holds countless first‑hand stories about the rock legend, you will travel through time to get up close and personal with Freddie's deep‑rooted connection to Montreux.

The highlight of this tour lies in the authentic memories from Freddie's inner world. The guide will generously share exclusive narratives from Peter Freestone — Freddie's personal assistant for 12 years, who maintained a deep bond with the legendary singer for over 20 years, and also served as a consultant for the film "Bohemian Rhapsody". His first‑hand experiences inject irreplaceable authenticity into the tour. From the creative perseverance in the recording studio to the leisurely moments by the lakeside, these never‑before‑revealed behind‑the‑scenes anecdotes will show you the flesh‑and‑blood Freddie beyond the stage spotlight.

A multilingual multimedia experience breaks the barriers of language and space. The tour offers audio guides in six languages: French, English, German, Italian, Spanish, and Russian. The English version is personally recorded by Peter Freestone. Listening to his warm voice recounting past stories feels as if the legend himself is right beside you. Exclusive photos and precious video clips interspersed throughout the itinerary will instantly transport you back to Montreux in the 1980s, recreating Queen's golden years there, allowing you to immerse yourself in the musical atmosphere and cityscape of that era.
The walking route connects Freddie's iconic footprints in Montreux, the most significant of which is the Mountain Recording Studio inside the Montreux Casino. This venue not only witnessed the creation of six classic Queen albums, including "Jazz" and "Made in Heaven", but has now been transformed into the Queen Studio Experience. You can get up close to the original recording equipment and even try your hand at mixing classic songs, personally experiencing the magic of music creation. The journey ends at the Freddie Mercury statue by the shores of Lake Geneva. This bronze statue captures his iconic stage pose with a raised microphone, its base covered with commemorative messages from fans worldwide, making it a revered pilgrimage site.

Whether you are a devoted fan of Queen or a traveller passionate about music and culture, this walking tour offers an unforgettable experience. The lively commentary from the local guide, the authentic memories of Peter Freestone, the immersive multimedia presentation, and the in‑depth exploration of iconic landmarks collectively form this musical tribute journey across time and space, allowing you to remember the eternal legend of Freddie Mercury amidst the lakes and mountains of Montreux.
