Montreux

Montreux is known as the "Pearl of Lake Geneva", a romantic French-style town. The iconic Chillon Castle is built on a lakeside rock, famous for Lord Byron's "The Prisoner of Chillon". The lakeside promenade is shaded with palm trees and features a statue of Freddie Mercury. The world-class Montreux Jazz Festival is held every July. It is backed by the Lavaux Vineyard Terraces. The local cuisine is renowned for cheese fondue, lobster pasta, and Lake Geneva seafood, perfectly paired with local wine.
