Join a private walking tour of Hoi An Ancient Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999 for its successful preservation of the multi‑layered influences of local and foreign cultures. Convenient hotel pickup in central Da Nang is provided, so you don't have to worry about the hassle of travelling between the two cities. Upon arrival in Hoi An, you will walk through streets inaccessible to cars and motorbikes. Your first stop is the Fujian Assembly Hall, an ornate Chinese‑style temple originally built as a traditional meeting place where Fujian Chinese could gather and socialise, which later became a place of worship. Head to Tan Ky Old House, described as a perfect example of an 18th‑century merchant's house, meticulously maintained by seven generations. Inside the ancient house, your guide will take you through rooms filled with antiques, where you will discover remnants of the prosperous trade and cultural exchanges between Vietnam, China, and Japan. As you continue your tour, you will find another well‑preserved 18th‑century piece — the Japanese Covered Bridge, the most famous of its kind in Vietnam and likely the city's most visited attraction, built by the then‑Japanese community to reach the Chinese quarter. Your final stop on the journey is another historic house just a short walk from the Japanese Covered Bridge. Phung Hung Old House is a two‑storey building featuring a blend of Chinese and Japanese architectural designs, along with artefacts showcasing Vietnamese culture and heritage. As your tour concludes here, you may choose to take the shuttle back to the hotel or wander the streets until 21:00, the latest departure time for returning to Da Nang. A little tip — stay until after sunset to see the colourful lanterns illuminate the ancient town's cobblestone streets! It is a sight you cannot miss.
