Selected Shikisai no Oka
In summer at Farm Tomita, you must try the cantaloupe here!
【Shikisai no Oka】 Shikisai no Oka boasts a vast and beautiful flower field covering an area of 15 hectares, resembling a rainbow‑coloured carpet. The floral patterns vary with the seasons. From the end of May to the end of October each year, over 30 varieties of flowers such as tulips, lavender, and sunflowers bloom in succession on the rolling hills, creating a colourful spectacle from afar, just like an artist's palette. Inside the flower field, there are also giant scarecrows standing tall, which are very adorable.

【Blue Pond】 Formed after a dam was built to block volcanic lava flows, the pond water reflects a blue colour under sunlight, hence its name. Approaching the Blue Pond in Biei feels like stepping into a fairyland, with a hazy beauty shrouded in mist, often referred to as Japan's "Little Jiuzhaigou".
【Shirahige Falls】 Named "Shirahige Falls" (White Beard Falls) because the water cascading through the crevices of the rocks resembles a white beard. The water gushing up from underground strikes the rocks, creating sparkling blue‑tipped splashes. Here, the mountains are green and the waters are clear in summer, while the scenery is covered in white snow in winter, offering the joy of experiencing the striking contrast between the two seasons.

【Farm Tomita】 One of the oldest flower fields in Japan, it has evolved from a farm where lavender was the main star into a large‑scale pastoral farm featuring as many as 150 varieties of flowers. The lavender blooming season usually starts in June, and from mid‑August, the winter greenhouse is open to the public, where you can see lavender, geraniums, and various other plants.
