Focus on five classic attractions during a half‑day tour in Anping, Tainan, experiencing the charm of history, nature, and cultural creativity all at once! The Grand Matsu Temple, one of the four major public temples in Anping, houses the Matsu statue that accompanied Koxinga to Taiwan. The soft‑body statue and the imperial plaque are of great cultural relic value, and the incense has been burning for centuries. Adjacent to it, the Anping Fort is the oldest castle in Taiwan, with remnants of Dutch‑style architecture and red‑brick pathways telling the story of the bustling old port.
The Tree House, reachable on foot, is a must‑photo spot. The century‑old banyan tree's aerial roots wrap around the old salt warehouse, creating a symbiotic wonder where "the tree uses the wall as its trunk, and the house uses leaves as its roof." Wooden walkways wind through it, allowing close‑up views of the ecology. Next to it, the Tait & Co. Merchant House retains its colonial‑era architecture from the Qing Dynasty, with interior exhibits recreating the tea and camphor trade scenes of the time. Finally, visit the Cigu Salt Mountain Visitor Centre, where colourful salt crystal displays and retro train station vibes make it a popular Instagram hotspot. The entire route is smooth, allowing a half‑day to fully experience Anping's unique historical depth and natural wonders, perfect for a leisurely stroll.

Visit Taiwan's oldest Anping Fort, with a statue of Koxinga at the entrance; every brick and tile carries its own unique historical traces.

Inside the fort, old banyan trees have entangled roots, bearing witness to centuries of historical vicissitudes.

Looking around, you can observe the wonderful sight of "walls embracing trees, and trees embracing walls."

The Tree House was originally a warehouse of the Tait & Co. Merchant House. After over a hundred years of change, the Anping Tree House now possesses a rare appearance and an air of mystery.
