Located atop Mount Shikotsu at an altitude of 550 metres in Noboribetsu, Hokkaido, the Noboribetsu Bear Park is accessible via a 7‑minute ropeway ride from Noboribetsu Onsen Street. It is Japan's first zoo dedicated to breeding and exhibiting brown bears, housing over 70 Hokkaido brown bears (Ezo brown bears) on a long‑term basis. The park is divided into the First Enclosure (male brown bears), Second Enclosure (female brown bears), Cub Bear Park, and the special "Human Cage" zone. It also features a Brown Bear Museum, an Ainu cultural exhibition area, and the Bear Mountain Restaurant. Visitors can participate in unique activities such as feeding the brown bears and duck racing. Unique "Human Cage" Bear Viewing Experience: Located in the First Enclosure, the "Human Cage" is an enclosed glass cabin where visitors can be surrounded by bears, observe the daily behaviour of male Ezo brown bears up close, and enjoy a visually and experientially impactful encounter.

Interactive Brown Bear Feeding Activity: Visitors can purchase special feed and toss it to the brown bears in designated areas. You can watch the bears standing and begging for food, or climbing to retrieve it in adorable poses, and also participate in ecological educational sessions conducted by the keepers.

Adorable Cub Bear Park Limited Experience: From late April to late November, you can visit the Cub Bear Park to see bear cubs eating and playing like fluffy toys — a must‑visit spot for families with children.

Diverse Supporting Leisure Facilities: The park houses the Brown Bear Museum, displaying over 500 bear specimens and ecological information. There is also an Ainu cultural exhibition area, a duck racing game, and the Bear Mountain Restaurant serving Hokkaido cuisine, enriching the overall visitor experience.
