In the scorching summer heat, looking for a place to cool off and seek some thrills? Qingyuan Gulong Gorge Rafting is definitely the top choice! It is a summer cool paradise where you can enjoy the exhilarating feeling of getting soaked and release all your stress.

Gulong Gorge RaftingAttraction Highlights & Advantages
The Gulong Gorge rafting course is truly one of a kind — a 6.1 km natural river channel with a 378‑metre vertical drop and a top speed of 72 km/h, just like a water roller coaster. It is the longest course with the greatest drop and fastest flow in Guangdong Province. In 2025, it has been fully upgraded to an Amazon‑themed scene, where you will pass through Gorilla Island, Crocodile Pond and Dinosaur Valley in sequence, with "savage" interactions keeping the thrills coming. The whole course is surrounded by pristine forest, with an annual maximum temperature of only 22°C — cool and sun‑safe, and you might even spot monkeys peeking from the mountainside, making it all the more fun.

Gulong Gorge Attractions
Yuntian Glass Bridge & High‑Altitude Glass Kingdom
Multiple world records await your challenge. The 1,314‑metre glass sightseeing route carries a beautiful meaning, with a 72‑metre suspended UFO observation deck and a 329‑metre 5D shattered‑effect glass bridge. Standing on the transparent platform with a 263‑metre vertical drop, you will see the mighty Cloud Dragon Waterfall surging beneath your feet — a truly breathtaking sight. The Divine Hand Platform lets you capture epic shots of "holding up the mountains", and the 200㎡ Sky Mirror reflects the sea of clouds for stunning photos.

Gulong Secret Realm & Grand Waterfall Group
A great spot for family trips. The nine‑tiered cascade waterfalls have a total drop of 263 metres, with the main waterfall, "Cloud Dragon Grand Waterfall", measuring 45 metres wide in spectacular fashion. In 2025, it has been upgraded to a "Prehistoric Fantasy" theme — along the plank walkway, you can encounter mechanical dinosaur beasts, explore the Water Curtain Cave, and hear 5D dinosaur roars — children are sure to love it.

QQ Speed Racer
Gulong Gorge has joined forces with the popular racing game QQ Speed to launch an officially licensed real‑life track — [Gorge Road QQ Speed]. This speed extravaganza blending virtual and reality perfectly recreates the game's speed experience in the magnificent gorge. The track spans 3,680 metres with nine twists and twenty‑eight bends, reproducing the game's classic corners, including right‑angle turns, hairpin turns, 360‑degree spiral turns, and figure‑8 switchbacks — 28 compound corners in total.

Trendy River Valley
The rushing torrent from the waterfall happily flows into the rafting channel and merges at the end of the rafting route with another stream in the scenic area — Clear Creek — earning the fitting name: One River, Two Banks. This area houses the Gulong Gorge Visitor Service Centre and leisure resort centre, with popular snacks, Qingyuan delicacies and trendy hotels all available.

Transportation Guide
Self‑driving is the most convenient option — simply navigate to "Gulong Gorge Visitor Centre". From Guangzhou, it takes about 1 hour, with a parking fee of RMB 20 per visit. If you prefer public transport, you can take the high‑speed rail to "Qingyuan Station" and then take a taxi, costing around RMB 60 — carpooling is more cost‑effective.

Travel Tips
Essential items: Prepare dark‑coloured quick‑dry clothing (light colours become see‑through when wet), 2 sets each of underwear and socks, non‑slip water shoes (flip‑flops may get washed away), SPF50+ sunscreen, a waterproof phone pouch (RMB 30 at the scenic area — better to buy online in advance), water toys such as water guns or scoops (RMB 15 at the scenic area — bringing your own saves money), plus a dry hair cap, disposable towels, and travel‑size toiletries.
Important notes: Mobile phones are not allowed during rafting, and the waterproof pouch at the scenic area costs an additional RMB 30; shoe covers are mandatory on the glass platform, and high heels and drones are prohibited; queue times at weekends can exceed 2 hours, so weekday mornings are recommended; choose a large locker (RMB 50), which can fit clothing for 2‑3 people.
