Nami Island
Nami Island is located at the boundary between Gyeonggi Province and Gangwon Province in South Korea, situated about 63 kilometres from Seoul towards Chuncheon. It is known for its narrow, lateral water flow and boasts uniquely beautiful scenery. The island spans approximately 6 km in circumference, covering an area of over 130,000 pyeong. At its centre lies a grassy field of over 80,000 pyeong, surrounded by lush forests of chestnut trees, white birches, ginkgo trees, maple trees, and pine trees that stand like a screen. It is equipped with various entertainment facilities, accommodation, a zoo, a botanical garden, and even cruise boats, giving it the appearance of a comprehensive resort destination. Nami Island offers natural beauty and elegance all year round, attracting countless couples and family visitors.
It has served as the filming location for several TV dramas. In particular, after being used as the filming site for the 2002 drama Winter Sonata, it has become a renowned tourist destination, drawing not only domestic tourists but also many visitors from Hong Kong and other Southeast Asian regions.
