Seven Star Crags is located about 2 kilometres north of Zhaoqing city centre in Guangdong. It is composed of five lakes, six hills, seven crags, and eight caves. The scenic area has four entrances: east, south, west, and north. There is also an entrance to Fairy Lake in the northeast.

The East Gate is relatively closer to Fairy Lake, and the South Gate is relatively closer to the Seven Star Crags Archway Plaza. However, both of these entrances are relatively far from the core scenic area, so it is recommended to enter through the West Gate or use the North Gate on Yingbin Avenue.

This is a park where you can go hiking and climbing mountains or enjoy the water and take a boat ride on the lake. If you want to climb high, you can ascend Tianzhu Crag or Shishi Crag to overlook the entire lake from above. If you are interested in caves, you can visit Shishi Cave, which contains many stalactites and stalagmites. In addition, the cave is also home to many cliff inscriptions; over 600 pieces of artwork can be found there, featuring calligraphy styles from various dynasties, which are well worth a look.

At Fairy Lake, you can take a boat ride. The boat trip allows you to also visit attractions such as the Red‑crowned Crane Ecological Park, the Reclining Buddha, and the Rice Exit Cave. The former allows you to view red‑crowned cranes and flamingos from a distance; the Reclining Buddha refers to an island in the lake that resembles a reclining Buddha statue.
