Lucerne is the most beautiful medieval old town in Switzerland, located on the shores of Lake Lucerne. The landmark Chapel Bridge is the oldest covered wooden bridge in Europe, adorned with historical paintings inside. The Lion Monument is hailed as “the saddest stone in the world.” The Musegg Wall is well-preserved, allowing visitors to climb the towers for a panoramic view. Taking a boat trip on the lake, one can visit Mount Rigi and Mount Pilatus. Local delicacies include Lucerne sausage and Swiss meat pie, while fondue at lakeside restaurants and Läderach chocolate are not to be missed.
