Basel is located at the tri-border of Germany, France and Switzerland. It is Switzerland's oldest university city and an art capital. It boasts over 40 museums, with the Kunstmuseum Basel being the largest in Switzerland. The red sandstone twin towers of Basel Minster are striking, and the Town Hall features colourful murals. The Art Basel and Baselworld watch and jewellery fairs are held annually. The Rhine River flows through the city, where visitors can experience traditional unpowered ferries. Local delicacies include Basler Leckerli (honey gingerbread), schnitzel with horseradish sauce, and cheese fondue.
