Tainan City, commonly known as Tainan, is one of the six special municipalities in Taiwan, located in the southwestern part of Taiwan. It faces the Taiwan Strait to the west, the Alishan Mountain Range to the east, borders Chiayi County to the north, and Kaohsiung City to the south. It has the highest number of roadways in Taiwan, with cultural heritage sites scattered throughout the city and a coexistence of diverse cultures. Tainan has a history of 400 years since its establishment as a city, featuring one potential World Heritage site in Taiwan, 21 national monuments, 119 municipal monuments, and 87 historical buildings, which are rich in historical significance and archaeological value. Tainan has over 60 night markets, with large ones such as Garden Night Market, Dadong Night Market, and Wusheng Night Market, and there is a popular night market mnemonic 'Da Da Wu Hua Da Wu Hua' (based on operating days from Monday to Sunday). The former Tainan County is known for the Zhonghua Road Night Market in Xinying and the Jiali Night Market.
