Kagoshima City

Kagoshima City is the prefectural capital located in southwestern Kyushu, Japan, situated in the northeastern part of the Satsuma Peninsula. Facing the active volcano 'Sakurajima' across the sea, it is renowned as the 'Naples of the East' for its majestic volcanic scenery. As a castle town of the Satsuma Domain, it has a long history, unique Kurobuta (black pork) cuisine, and abundant hot springs, serving as a transport hub connecting Kyushu and its surrounding islands.
