City introduction

Kamo City

Kamo City is located in the central part of the Echigo Plain. Kamo Shrine has a long history, and its wisteria trellis (in May) is splendid like a waterfall. Kamo Lake is a brackish lake, rich in oysters and clams. The rural scenery along the Shinano River is beautiful. The Kamo Onsen area offers a tranquil environment. Local cuisine features Niigata rice, Kamo oysters, clam soup, Koshihikari sushi, mountain vegetable dishes, and local sake, where the aroma of rice and seafood perfectly blend together.
