Shanghai, abbreviated as Hu, also known as Shen, is a port city. It is the second most populous city in China, one of the most developed cities in the country, and a global city. Dishes such as Eight Treasure Duck, Braised Pork Tripe, Braised Sea Cucumber with Shrimp Roe, and Salted Pork with Bamboo Shoot Soup are well-known delicacies, while Fried Prawns and Braised Fish Tail are more common home-style dishes. Additionally, Pan-fried Buns and Steamed Soup Dumplings are iconic Benbang snacks.
