Shanghai, abbreviated as Hu, also known as Shen, is a port city. It is the second most populous city in China, one of the most developed cities in the country, and a global city. The Oriental Pearl Radio & TV Tower, Shanghai Wild Animal Park, Shanghai Science & Technology Museum, four national forest parks including Sheshan, Dongping, Gongqing, and Haiwan, as well as 617 examples of Shanghai's outstanding historical architecture such as Sassoon House and Waibaidu Bridge. The Bund's nightscape in Puxi and the skyscraper nightscape of Lujiazui in Pudong, separated by the Huangpu River, attract thousands of tourists for sightseeing. Meanwhile, areas such as the Nanjing Road shopping district, Xujiahui shopping district, Xintiandi, and even Baoshan feature colourful and dazzling nightscape installations. The most famous representatives of Shanghai Benbang cuisine are two century-old restaurants: Green Wave Hall and Shanghai Old Restaurant. Dishes such as Eight Treasure Duck, Braised Pork Tripe, Braised Sea Cucumber with Shrimp Roe, and Salted Pork with Bamboo Shoot Soup are well-known delicacies, while Fried Prawns and Braised Fish Tail are more common home-style dishes. Additionally, Pan-fried Buns and Steamed Soup Dumplings are iconic Benbang snacks.
